All, Just wanted to mention, ANYTIME you finish a track you're proud of, PLEASE post a link to it here:  https://aymat.org/community/releases/ The whole point of this community is to have a place where you can share, release and promote your music.  I would LOVE the release section to be filled with releases from all the session producers, REGARDLESS of it being released on LF or not. The release forum is set up specifically for this so please feel free to post ANY music you'd like to promote in it, no need to ask! ️

Few years old but a really interesting video to that talks about key changes in #1 top billboard tracks from 1958 to to 2023 (round that basically to today as well). Most modern popular music really doesn't have a lot key changes, if any, which is why a lot of it tends to sound the same IMO. Having key changes in a track isnt a requirement, but it does make it interesting and helps the track stand out more, almost like having an extended vocabulary to help you articulate and express things better. Its a little different though with electronic music since it tends to lean more towards dance and he touches on that in the beginning when he references disco. But I think its a really interesting find and something to consider: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVllpzhA5VM

@samuraitracks VAL!!!!! THAT'S IT!!!! That is EXACTLY what I'm talking about!!! FEELING IS EVERYTHING! Fuck man, you got me all teary eyed lol   Dude, Yoda hit that nail on the head: "You must feel the Force around you; here, between you, me, the tree, the rock, everywhere." And he also said this, which is the EXACT opposite of what happens when you're not feeling your way through the process: ***"Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger; anger leads to hate; hate leads to suffering.” ***I've already said this privately but you've outdone yourself with these tracks. Absolutely fantastic work and I am truly in awe at you've accomplished here. One thing I wanted to mention regarding your mixing comment, its crazy how keeping things simple is really the core thing that makes everything in production easier to finish. And I think a lot of that has to do with how we convince ourselves that doing or adding more somehow makes things better, which is almost never the case.  Being precious about this stuff too is another thing that keeps us stuck. Music is incredibly personal to all of us, thats why its so hard to let go of something youve made. And thats where the whole process behind organizing projects with potential vs one's without it comes into play. You dont have to think or force anything when do it this way. Also, you dont sound pompous or conceited for sharing this. This is the whole point of having this community, to share what you learn and pass it on. What I learn from someone else, I will always happily share. So THANK YOU for sharing because the more people see it, the more people it will help. Like you said dude*, all of this exists as "artistical, universal truths". *None of this is something I came up with, or anyone for that matter. It's always been there like oxygen.. you dont notice it when you can breath properly, but you sure as fuck notice it when you cant   Val, BOTH tracks you shared sound AMAZING. They're energetic, they flow and vibe and the best part is I can lose myself in the music. They are fucking legit. BRAVO!  ️️️

Not sure if any of you caught this video Alex Ball posted about two weeks ago but it was a lot of fun watching. Even though he said that first track was in the style of Mario Kart, it could have easily been Sonic. I had both the 990 and 5080 and intimately familiar with both... crazy how much those sounds were used   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cK0FhoO3w7U

@samuraitracks Val! Glad you're back and hopefully had an opportunity to disconnect even if went longer than you expected!   Yeah man, things just seem to get more complicated these days. I'm dealing with renewing my residency at the moment... man what a shit show. Funcionarios are the bane of my existence   Lets catch up soon if you have time before school kicks off again!

Love the bass intro and the weird percussion synth that spazes out. this made me realise i need to get better at programming drums and rhythmic elements. it's not my style of music but it was certainly enjoyable. well done guys

Just a quick heads up, I'll be doing server updates today. No expected downtime but the site and forum should be running a lot snappier from here on out. If you have any questions or run into any issues. Please let me know. Thanks!
