@johncave  All good and everything you stated is absolutely fair! Btw, this is absolutely normal input so no need to worry, we'll keep revising until we get it just right. I'll do another round this weekend and send it over! - J

@aymat Don't worry about it! Life is chaotic and I know you didn't mean to miss it! No need to make it up to me, you're helping me with for free which is already more than enough. I'll book a session for tomorrow now.  Thanks for keeping me updated John

Hi Joel, Sorry to hear that you're still struggling! Wishing you a strong recovery I appreciate your thoughts on my arrangement. I think I subconsciously focus on the tension genuinely just because I find transitions very fun and rewarding to create. Thank you. I did get a chance to rewatch the Fountain and thoroughly enjoyed it. Still trying to make sense of it now! I adored the colour grading and found the whole movie sooo aesthetically pleasing. Definitely considering using that 'finish it' quote; simple and short and will carry some impact. Was definitely a good movie for me since it carried the same 'mind-fuckery' present in 2001 a space odyssey. I like the soundtrack too. I'm looking forward to the artwork!

@aymat No need to apologise, I'm happy to hear that!  I tried finalising the mix of some songs but realised I still didn't like some of them. So I did a little side project where I made a track every day to hopefully inspire myself. I've now got a batch of songs I'm pretty much fully happy with, but I just need to finish them. A lot of the ones I already showed you have stuck around, but some of the older ones have been replaced. I can book a session soon, sure. My sleep schedule is bonkers because I'm dealing with so much stress in my personal life right now so hopefully I can find one that works so I'm not tired out of my mind like last time.  Wishing you a lot of luck with the website release! It's always looked so neat and been pretty intuitive to use. Excited about the artwork too!

Got mood board, awesome! Dont worry about the commission, I'm happy to do it pro-bono since youre helping me in the process of going through the sessions.  These are a couple of examples of the kind of I work I do: https://joelcarlo.net/portfolio-items/concept-comic-covers/ https://joelcarlo.net/portfolio-items/mechahatechimp/ https://joelcarlo.net/portfolio-items/artistic-anatomy/ The mood board is great though, it gives me a really good sense of direction. For the meantime take a look at the image I posted in the other thread and let me know if you think thats something you might be interested in working with. If not no worries, we can keep working on ideas until we get something concrete.

Hi @johncave,  I uploaded this mixing tutorial to my drive which does a really good job of explaining gain staging by using LUFS as a levels guide. Its a bit old and mainly geared toward rock music but the general idea is there. A lot of the plugins in the tutorial are free plugins if you feel inclined to download and try things out: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1CQSBifUhaklS2VMkOWGgWYdVJeh8JIwN/view?usp=drive_link One thing I will say, don't take it as gospel. Its a pretty generic tutorial but it was how I gateway-ed into the way I mix now. There's a much better approach to mixing in LUFS that supersedes the need for all those steps. I'll be putting a video tutorial together to explain how I do it and also an overview of using a mid side mixing for mono compatibility and to get your mix to translate better. More soon!

John! Sorry it took so long to respond back, it's been incredibly busy this pas week and I'm just catching up   Yeah, I'm using webmail to manage email on the site and sometimes emails get flagged as spam. Working on getting that fixed at the moment but in the meantime, if you can add info@aymat.org to your contacts and mark it it as not spam, that should work until I get things fixed.  No worries on the wait, take your time and good luck on your final project. Looking forward to the session next week. Talk soon! - J
