HI Val,

A little late posting... sorry about that! Just wanted to recap about the session and ask you for some input. That was the first try at sharing my screen with a the mixing/mastering sessions. Still working out the bugs for sharing all the audio but I wanted to ask what your thoughts are on it. I know that last part in the mastering got derailed a bit with the broken plugin, but that aside, did you find it helpful at all? Was it interesting, too long, etc? Feel free to be as blunt as possible, your input is valuable and its what using to improve these sessions.

I replied in the previous post but I'll be mastering both of your tracks tomorrow and I'll do a a proper screen recording for both so you can see how I approach it... hopefully this time without any glitches

Talk soon! - J

Val thank you so much for the input, it really helps!

I'm going to try to approach this from a couple of different ways until I can fine tune it but the daw audio sharing during the session is something i definitely will have fixed. I have a recorded mastering overview I'll shoot your way tomorrow that goes over what I did on the second track which youll be able to hear better. Anyhow man, its late and I gotta go eat but will talk more soon. Thanks again!!!! - J

in general, yes, i think it was quite useful. showing me the general curve of frequency response and how my mix was balanced; the various tools and the imager for the phasing/stereo image and so on. i liked it a lot.

i believe having one session that is more focused on the technical aspect of things can be helpful. depending on the person, then you might even personalise it more, focusing on arrangement, actual writing, maybe some people struggle with chords, creating sounds, etc. me for example, i thought my mixes were hot garbage but i felt relieved when you told me the opposite. you can never stop learning

about the length, i don't think it was too long at all. you showed everything and we had an extra 20-30 minutes because we did not start the screen-share at exactly at o'clock.
